Free-piston engine linear generators (FPELGs) are an innovative power device that exhibits the distinctive dynamics of pistons and performance free-piston engines. Furthermore, single-cylinder/single-piston FPELG structure type has more advantages than other types, including a straightforward ease control. However, when coupled with various rebound devices, operational characteristics piston FPELGs quite different. Therefore, this paper aims to quantitatively compare types device. The results indicate equivalent stiffness gas spring is greater mechanical spring, operating frequency will be higher spring.
